REVIEWS

Gray’s piece is yet another very funny and sometimes cruel comedy which carries with it a clutch of excellent performances… a very honest, funny and gusty exploration of sexual innocence, lustfulness, moral perversity, and the intriguing havoc they can all wreak.

Steve Grant, Time Out, February 3rd 1993

Gray tends to be a melancholy, sardonic dramatist; but the prospect of megadeath put him into a frolicsome mood. Indeed, the tone of Femme Fatale recalled that great Ealing comedy, The Ladykillers… The play ended as happily as anything Gray has written, with Callow and Diaz cooing over their baby in what was now her grocery shop, while smiling schoolchildren sang an Italian translation of “Widdicombe Fair”. I loved it all.
