Produced by Michael Codron, the play will tour to the Theatre Royal, Brighton from January 8 and the Theatre Royal, Bath from January 19, before reaching the West End. Opening night at the Wyndham's Theatre will be on 29th January, and the play will run for a limited season. Full cast to be announced.
Speaking in the Daily Mail, Codron said that Quartermaine's Terms is about English values: "We are all decent people, even though a lot of us are living in quiet desperation." Codron also remarked that Quartermaine's Terms will be his swansong in the theatre, marking the end of a long and extraordinary career. It was Codron who produced the first production of Quartermaine's Terms in 1981, starring Edward Fox and directed by Harold Pinter. In the same year he was also involved in Atkinson's stage debut in a comic revue.
